You’re invited to the Dancing Planet Contra Dance,Sunday, January 12, 3:00-6:00 pm, at the Bumper Car Pavilion at Glen Echo Park, MD, produced by DANCING PLANET PRODUCTIONS, now cosponsored by Folklore Sciety of Greater Washington!Handspring WOWWED us at Contrastock in October, so we’re thrilled they’re back! We’re in for an afternoon of delightfully inspired, driving dance tunes played by Alex Mitchell (fiddle/mandolin), Owen Morrison (guitar/foot percussion), and Carrie Rose (flute/piccolo). Janine Smith calls the figures. Expect a ton of fun, a nice variety of dances, and, maybe, a few little shenanigans.
Admission $15 - payable at the door by cash or $17 Venmo (covers the merchant fee we’re charged)
The Bumper Car Pavilion is a wonderful covered open-air space with a nice wooden floor. Heavy side curtains and overhead radiant heaters keep us toasty warm throughout the winter months, no matter the weather.
