SUN SONGS: A Ritual in the Shape of Music
Music and Lyrics, kt madison • Book, Deborah Cowell
Wednesday March 26th • AFFINITY NIGHT
Judson Memorial Church | 55 Washington Square S.
Grounded in a 22,000 year old indigenous African folktale, SUN SONGS is a meditative musical experience that explores how the rhythms of the natural world ground us, when so much is burning. Seamlessly bringing a constellation of acoustic musicians (upright bass, guitar, cello and piano) as ancestors, alongside with a narrator to guide the story from the past through the present, SUN SONGS invites you to open yourself to the possibilities of the future.
Finding our way back to the rhythm of love, guided by the flow of the natural world, and led by the presence of the infinite number of stars in the night sky, this musical grounds our relationship to time, guided by a cosmic kind of sentiment.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance starts. Doors will open at 6:30pm each night. The performance, including a 10 minute intermission, will last 2 hours and 15 minutes.

ABOUT JUDSON MEMORIAL CHURCH
For over 125 years, Judson has served as a beacon of Radical Hope for Greenwich Village and far beyond. Through their unique approach to expansive spirituality, embodied justice-seeking, and unfettered creativity, the Judson community continues to reimagine what church can be: a sanctuary where organizers, activists, and artists are lifted up as the voices that show us where we've been, who we are, and what we can become. Whether it's Judson's 11am Sunday morning service, it's regular Wednesday night arts programming, or one of the hundreds of gatherings we host every year, there's a place for you. If you'd like to learn more or donate to support our efforts, follow these codes or visit judson.org.
ACCESSIBILITY
Judson has 2 ALL-GENDER multi stall bathrooms with all of the basics and 2 ADA Single Occupancy Stall bathrooms for priority use by ADA patrons. The single stall ADA restroom on the north side includes a shower and changing station.
Judson is ADA accessible through our 243 Thompson Street entrance. Our lift by that entrance allows access to the Meeting Room, The Gym, and our 2 single use restrooms on the basement level.
We give special thanks to the many constellation members who have supported this exploration and continue to champion the process of discovery, the life of the artists, and everything existing outside of the binary.
