Sun King Warriors is a six-piece musical tornado of positivity, groove, and good vibes. Is it rock? Yes. Americana? A bit. Groove heavy? For sure.
Founded by frontman/guitarist (and founding member of Rusted Root) Jim Donovan, the group combines the personalities and musical experiences of our six members to create an explosion of joy and positivity on every stage they land on.
The Sun King Warrior sound has been described as “roots rock with two tons of drums,” and the band has been electrifying audiences since 2014.
While carving a unique sonic trajectory, SKW’s riff-based rock foundations appeal to fans of classic and 90’s rock (Zeppelin, Nirvana), the intricate arrangements and live improvisation has drawn attention from jam band and prog fans alike.
A Sun King Warrior show will leave fans with legs tired from dancing, cheeks exhausted from smiling, and hearts filled with enough energy to make the world a better place.
