SUMS COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE
Inspiring Collaborative Approaches to Change
Equipping change leaders in our universities for more effective conversations and networks is critical to managing successful change initiatives, and this is the focus of our next in-person Change Community of Practice session hosted by University of Newcastle on 21st November 2024.
We are pleased to have a key note introduction focusing on the University’s “Research Culture Transformation Programme” delivered by a team led by Professor Candy Rowe - Professor of Animal Behaviour and Cognition, and Dean of Research Culture and Strategy.
Professor Rowe set-up and co-directed the Centre for Behaviour and Evolution at the University of Newcastle in 2007, and has successfully built new and interdisciplinary collaborations between researchers interested in behaviour from across Newcastle University. She is passionate about supporting people's careers and seeing them develop and succeed, and is a strong advocate for equality, diversity, inclusion (EDI) in the research environment.
The key note session presents an excellent introduction to the rest of the day which features an interactive workshop “Inspiring Collaborative Conversations around Change” facilitated by SUMS Associate Consultant Susannah Randall. Susannah is a certified coach, communications consultant and author, specialising in work to support people and teams to build their interpersonal effectiveness and influencing skills. The day ends with a practical example of good practice in the area of collaborative change from the University of Westminster.
