Join us for a hands-on, community-based Summer Survival Series hosted by The Good Medicine Center! Whether you're a beginner, a nature lover, or just curious about getting more prepared, these classes offer practical tools to help you build resilience—in the wild and in modern life.
Each session is unique and can be attended as a stand-alone class or part of the full series.

7/6 – The Sacred Order of Survival: Shelter, Water, Fire, Food
An interactive lecture and demo exploring the four pillars of survival. Learn how to prioritize in emergencies with group discussion and gear examples.
7/20 – Build Your Go Bag: Preparedness for Modern Times
What goes in a bug-out bag? We’ll break down gear choices for every budget and run quick evacuation scenarios to help you feel ready.
8/3 – Firemaking 101: From Lighters to Bow Drill
No flames, but plenty of sparks. This visual demo explores fire-making tools, safety, and ancient techniques like bow drill and char cloth. Learn fire safety precautions and build your confidence.
8/17 – Urban Survival: Skills When the Grid Goes Down
How do you shelter in place or bug out in a city? This creative, challenge-based class teaches DIY water filtration, improvised shelters and survival hacks using common household items.
9/7 – Navigation Basics: Map, Compass, and Mental Mapping
In this map-focused session, you'll learn to read topographic maps, understand compass basics and create a “mental map” of your surroundings—perfect for trail or city life alike.
9/21 – DIY First Aid: Natural and Essential Items for Emergencies
Build your own first aid kit with natural remedies and household basics. Learn how to care for minor injuries and support your body in emergencies with confidence and calm.
