Summer Sundaze is back for its third season! Every Sunday evening this summer, the Jamie Hurd Amphitheater will come alive with free live music from talented local artists. From 6-8 p.m., different bands will take the stage each week to get your toes tapping and hands clapping. Satisfy your sweet tooth this summer with our new lineup of food trucks! Each Sunday evening concert will feature a different truck serving up delicious desserts to complement the live music. Indulge in everything from ice cream sandwiches to funnel cakes while listening to your favorite local bands. These specialty food trucks have been handpicked to add something extra sweet to the 2024 concert series.
Major Blues and the Mugshots has been performing around the metro and central Iowa for over 10 years. They play what they think is the best of Chicago Style Blues. Performing songs by legendary blues greats like Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Howling Wolf, Jimmy Reed, John lee Hooker and more. This high energy electrified style of blues is upbeat and always a crowd pleaser. They also incorporate blues education into their performances which is greatly appreciated by audience members who often say they loved the educational component as much as the music. Major Blues and the Mugshots is dedicated to keeping the blues alive and well in the Des Moines community!
