Join us for Summer Sounds - a packed programme of music on the bandstand at Strawberry Field. With free music events happening every weekend throughout the summer, Summer Sounds is the perfect family day out. Bring along your picnic blankets and deckchairs, and enjoy music in the garden as John Lennon did as a child.
Live on the bandstand on Saturday 13th July is Valley Brass Band.
Valley Brass are based in Haydock , St. Helens. The band was founded in 1992 when Musical Director, David Chadwick, came to the realisation that there were not enough musical services for young children in the area. They are now an established group and perform in concerts and contests regionally and nationally.
Valley Brass have a thriving learner group, a training band and an adult training band; ensuring anyone can have access to learning a musical instrument, whether they are entirely new, or have not played in a long time.
The band also supply instruments to 220 children in four schools in St.Helens and run each school's brass band; also providing music workshops to over a dozen schools in the town. Valley Brass are based at the Richard Evans Community Centre in Haydock, which they lease and use to help provide facilities for local community groups.

Valley Brass's performance will include film music from Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and James Bond. Games and anime music from Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda and Cowboy BeeBop. Music from musicals such as Les Miserable and performances from their amazing soloists.
Doors open from 10am with performances starting at 2pm. Free entry, but donations are welcome and appreciated.
Please note that there is no seating in the garden. Feel free to bring your own chairs and picnic blankets. Food and drink will be available to purchase in the Imagine More café.
