About this Event
Join us for a summer bird walk with the Indiana Young Birders Network, an engaging and inclusive community fostering a love for nature and birding. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and welcoming environment for youth birders to learn and grow through hands-on experiences, educational demonstrations, and more.
This educational excursion will be led by Savannah Bennett and will begin at the Indiana Dunes State Park Nature Center. Learn identification tips and practice your skills at the Nature Center bird feeders before venturing onto the trails with fellow young enthusiasts.
Parents are more than welcome to come along for the birding adventure! This is a family-friendly guided bird walk for all ages and experience levels.
Please bring binoculars if you already have them. If you do not have binoculars, the Nature Center has a limited supply for you to borrow. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable hiking boots.
We will meet at the front door of the Indiana Dunes State Park Nature Center at 9 a.m. Central Time.
Registration
This event is free but registration is required. Sign up and attend for a chance to win a free field guide! You must be present to enter the drawing.
Accessibility
This excursion includes a moderate walk within the Indiana Dunes State Park. We will stroll through the woods and make frequent stops to look at birds.
Park Admission
Registration does not include admission to the Indiana Dunes State Park. Participants must have a state park pass or pay for daily admission ($7 for in-state daily entrance or $9 for out-of-state daily entrance).
