SUMMER SOLSTICE
The summer solstice (20th june) marks the longest day of the year. This big change in the seasons are a time of transformation,reflection and new veginnings. So at this time we need to set a day or two to pause and take stock; set our intentions and review those we might have made in the New Year.
In Ayurveda (the sister science to yoga) Agni is our inner fire. It allows us to burn off or assimilate not only food but thoughts, emotions and things we no longer need. On this day we will go through flowing practice and pranayama such as sun salutes etc.. to invoke this fire. We will rise each other up and leave feeling refreshed and replenished.
