Summer Solstice Campfire Gathering

Celebrate the summer solstice in wildish style!
Join us for an evening of feasting and musical merriment this June! An invitation to co-create a community gathering in celebration of the sun at the height of it’s power, and on our chosen date -the full moon! The solstice (which falls on the 20th this year) marks the longest day and shortest night of the year, when the trees are in full leaf and flowers are flourishing. It is the peak of our expressive expansive selves, a time to celebrate who we are and what we have achieved, both collectively and individually. Come on your own or with friends, you will be welcomed warmly :-)
The order of events...
6:30-8pm communal meal – Bring a dish to share!
8-10pm Campfire shenanigans – bring a song, poem or story to share, or just join in with others offerings. There will be percussion instruments to borrow, and guided group songs and drumming too. We will mark the moment the sun sets at 21:50pm!
Location
We will meet at the community veg garden on Urswick Road, Ulverston. There is a campfire circle and a wooden cabin for use in case of bad weather (we will substitute campfire for atmospheric candlelight!)
Booking and costs
The tickets for this event are very low to cover costs, admin and promotion. The intention is that we all contribute to the evening in some way, whether that be with a song or poem, some logs for the fire, help with set up or pack down etc. Additional donations are welcomed on the night for those who prefer to just rock up and enjoy what's on offer, and can afford to chip in a bit more to support the event. Have a think about what works for you and I will be in touch a week or so before the event to check in with you all! It also really helps me if you can book at least a week before the event so I have confidence that we are going ahead. I am offering an early bird ticket as a little incentive (available until the end of May)!
So get on your gladrags, free your spirits, and stoke the fires - inside and out! Hope to see you there!

ABOUT YOUR HOST
Amy is an experienced environmental and creative facilitator, musician and songwriter. Through ‘Playful Nature’ she supports people to connect with their instinctive, playful selves, with each other, and the living earth… to nurture health and happiness and bring a sense of wholeness and presence to our lives. Amy has been delighting in making music for years – in drum circles, singing groups, writing songs and playing in bands. She is passionate about supporting others to sing from the soul, enjoy their voice, and unleash the creative life force that flows through us all, even if it feels deeply buried! Here's what people have said about Amy's work:
“We loved your solstice sing in the woods. You are such a lovely gentle facilitator, blending collaborative fun and meaningful ritual beautifully. We need more of that in our lives!”
“Beautifully held, fun, relaxing, funny”
“Expressive, liberating”
“I felt very safe. You are so good at creating safety through your acceptance of all folks and contributions”
“Thank you for such a beautiful evening! I had been getting kinda nervous about it and singing in front of others but you made us feel at ease so quickly and the songs were lovely and easy to work with. There was such a great energy there this evening and I left feeling so much better than when I arrived - calm content and energised!”
