Let's celebrate the summer solstice with a bike ride and overnight campout! ☀️• June 22-23 - meet at KCB Saturday at 2pm, 2:30pm rollout. Return mid afternoon Sunday.
• DESTINATION: Jack McGowan's Farm (home to Mankato's well-known History Fest) This year we have the added fun of experiencing the playful landscape and "toys" Jack McGowan's farm has to offer. Think zipline, stilts, and dinkin' around down by the river.
Location can accommodate a large group, NO participation cap at this time. Camping will be in a grassy area with wooded perimeter, drinking water, toilet, picnic table, fire pit and firewood provided. If you have a small lightweight camp chair or blanket, would recommend bringing...seating may be limited.
• THE RIDE: This is a beginner-friendly ride! The most direct route is ~8 miles (one way), however we will also offer a more exploratory route option ~15-20 miles including views of the Minnesota River, Minneopa Creek & waterfalls, Blue Earth River, AND the LeSueur River. The last mile of the route will be on gravel with some steep hills. Routes will be posted prior to event and will be on bike paths and rural county roads. Easy-going pace, with a couple breaks along the way to re-group and re-fuel on snacks & water.
• COST: sliding scale donation, asking minimum $15/person. (Reduced participation fee of $10 for LGBTQ+, women/femme, non-binary, BIPOC, or low-income identifying folks). There are also a limited number of free entry scholarships available, please fill out the form for more information.
Registration funds go towards covering cost of campsite and firewood, any additional donations beyond the minimum will go right back to supporting KCB and our future programming!
Pre-registration REQUIRED online by JUNE 19th thru Google Form (link below). Make payments in-person or online: www.keycitybike.org/donate
