Have you been waiting for a sign that its time for your to solo ? Well this is it ! Sara Shrapnell has joined with Andrea of the Dark Side Hafla to bring you a month of workshops to get you ready to dance in this safe and supportive enviroment.Whats included ?
July 1st - 6.30 - 90 minute workshop setting you up for success
All of July - 90 minute on-line workshop taking you through all the steps from student to stage. Plus a FB group to chat, and support each other.
July 22nd - 6.30 - 90 minute problem solving group session, to tidy up your last minute issues, and get support, in-person, from your class mates.
July 26th - 7pm - Performance opportunity ! You get a solo spot at the Dark Side Hafla
Who is this aimed at ? YOU ! Have you been dancing for 6 months or more ? Have you never danced infront of an audience ? Have you performed, but not felt prepared ? Did you feel like you didnt know what you were doing ? We are going to cover everything you need to take you from the studio to performing.
Cant make the in-person classes ? Dont worry, you can still take the on-line portion, you just miss out on the hands on support.
Dont want to perform ? This workshop is not for you. We wont be doing the usual warm up/dance/cool down, this workshop will be focused on giving you all the tools you need to perform.
Why the Dark Side ? Because its a local, supportive venue, where all levels of dancer are welcomed, and a great spot to get a few performances under your coin belt.
What else do you need ? You will need to commit to working through the on-line workshop. While its only 90 minutes, the "homework" will be about 10 hours, including creating your dance, practice, costuming and make up. The lessons you will learn in this workshop will stay with you for the rest of your performing life.
All styles and levels are welcome. The techniques you will learn in this workshop, work with all BD styles and for dancers of all levels.
