Summer Sewing: 5 day Fashion Show Camp

Welcome to Summer Sewing!

Take on the world of sewing with instructor Amanda in our downtown Bakersfield studio.

In this 5 day camp we will be focusing on reading a pattern and creating a full look for our end of the week fashion show!

This is an ADVANCED camp. (Students must be able to confidently operate a sewing machine and have made multiple projects. If you are unsure if your child is fit for this option please reach out to me through email, call or text, contact is at the end of the descripton)

General details:

Fashion show week:
Monday: Designing outfits and cutting out patterns

Tuesday: Trip to the fabric store (F&M fabrics on Niles and Oswell, I will be asking for a parent volunteer to help take students at from 10am-11:30am) remaining of the day we will be cutting out our fabric

Wednesday-Friday: Constructing our garments
Friday: Finish up last minute touches to outfits and practice runway walks

Fashion show will take place Friday August 9th fro 6:30-7:30pm and will be in conjunction with our older students that have camp in the afternoon.

August 5-9th(Monday-Friday)

9am-12pm

Ages: 8-12
(We have offerings for 13-16 as well, check our Eventbrite page or website for more information)

Pricing: $350 ($50 deposit is paid on Eventbrite and remaining balance is paid on first day of session. If you are interested in paying the deposit through Zelle, Apple Pay, cash, or check, please reach out separately)
**This camp has a higher price point because we will be givining students a budget at the fabric store

Class size: 6-8

Camp includes:

Use of sewing machines, tools, and fabric

Water and snacks, though we encourage students to bring their own reusable water bottle

Take home multiple projects that are created in class

Fashion show for friends and family to attend

Other important information:

There are no refunds, but the class can be transferred to another student

In the event that a students gets sick:

They are to stay hone until they feel better

There are no make up dates for class. If a student does not finish their project, the option of booking a private lesson is allowed.
