About this Event
THEME: "THE NEXT PHASE"
Birthing something new or moving in a new direction can often be unnerving, especially if we are used to comfort, stability and safety. Some resist change, but as most know, "Change is the one certain constant in Life”.
New terrain can feel uncertain and taking new steps into unfamiliar territory demands a level of courage, action, surrender and trust.
Andrew is travelling from Byron Bay to host this four-day immersive journey.
Having lived over 5 decades and almost half of that time in the Yoga World, Andrew’s life has taught him that each stage of life is different. Each phase comes with its gifts as well as challenges, and a restlessness can arise when we feel intuitively that a change is coming. Even the way we practice Yoga changes and evolves as WE do.
Something calls us and sometimes we don’t know why…but regardless we can choose to either refuse or accept the call.
Here is Andrew’s invitation:
Ask Yourself -
- Is your life moving in a new direction?
- Are you feeling a call towards something new?
- How do you feel and what's your experience in taking those early steps towards the next phase and accepting the call, even when a lot is uncertain and unknown.
- What if every stage in your life has been training you towards the NEXT PHASE…and those to follow.
The journey we often take is rarely linear and learning ways to navigate the new terrain is sometimes difficult on our own.
Therefore Andrew has created and carefully curated this 4 day morning yoga immersion, to create the space and time to explore, inquire and perhaps receive some insight into what the next phase is for YOU…
Andrew knows that he is not alone in this experience, and so his offering to all of us, is to be curious, take time out for ourselves and allow the various aspects of our yoga practice (not just asana) to reveal and unveil the next steps into THE NEXT PHASE of your life.
If this resonates with you and you feel the call, REGISTER NOW…that in itself is a step towards your highest truth…a universal call.
----
DAY 1 : THE CALL - Monday 20 Jan, 6:45am - 8:15am
How do you experience a call and how do you respond to it?
Yoga practice can refine our intuition to know when to accept the call or not. Our inner guidance system becomes more aligned with what is meant for us. Timing is everything but Andrew has learned that everything has its "right time" and opportunities when taken from a place of trust and courage, always leads us to a truer, more authentic place.
Andrew will send out some personal enquiry questions to consider in the days leading up to the immersion.
Be ready to set your intentions and start from a solid foundation.
Focus: Grounding and standing poses, 6 orientations of spine in asana practice, laterals, twists, mantra, meditation and your Madhyama.
----
DAY 2 :THE UNKNOWN - Tuesday 21 Jan, 6:45am - 8:15am
One of Andrew’s favourite times…in fact, he spent an entire year becoming comfortable in the “ not knowing”. Through that year, he learned SO much!!! He is thrilled and so excited to share his experiences with you and offer tools that may support your own personal journey.
Focus: Semi inversions, balances, preparatory or full inversions,
*trusting the "not knowing” (A note from Andrew; “I am keeping a portion of the class Sacred/Secret)*
----
DAY 3: THE INSPIRATION AND COLLABORATION - Wednesday 22 Jan, 6:45am - 8:15am
What inspires you and lights you up?
Through sharing and exchanging, we may learn ways on how NOT to have to do it all alone.
Partnering up and observation.
(Please Note: Andrew will provide alternatives and modifications on this morning, for those who do not wish to engage in partner work).
Focus: Partner work, Pranayamas, Mudras and exchanging in pairs and groups. How conscious awareness and our relationships can inspire and enhance our Asana practice, and many other aspects of our lives.
----
DAY 4: THE EMERGENCE - Thursday 23 Jan, 6:45am - 8:15am
Emerging into the “Next Phase” may be arduous or effortless depending on how we view the emergence phase. The lens Andrew will be offering may not be what you expect but he is hopeful that something will emerge and transport you into the NEXT PHASE of your life!
Focus: Laterals, twists, backbends, inversions, deep rest , meditation, take homes.

Andrew invites you to join him for this wonderful 4 Morning Immersion and the gifts that will be revealed through his guidance.
Things to note:
Centre of You has plenty of bolsters, blankets, and cushions for you to get cosy with. We recommend wearing comfortable, loose clothes to enable deep breathing and sitting/laying upon the floor with ease. A journal and an eye mask is recommended as are any familiar personal items that will aid you in feeling grounded (crystal, teddy, scarf, etc).
Personal responsibility: Please make an assessment on whether you are feeling stable and resourced enough to explore the practices on offer in this event.
Arrival: Endeavour to arrive between 6:30am - 6:45am. To preserve the experience for all involved, doors will close at 7:00am. Truly, it breaks our heart to have to turn latecomers away yet the disruption to the whole group experience by virtue of lateness does require management. We ask that you find understanding and consideration for the timebound nature of the container and make every effort to arrive on time. This immersive journey is scheduled to conclude at 8:15am each morning, however, there may be days in which the container runs until 8:30am. We understand work commitments so please feel free to honour those.
Driving: Park direct on Chapel St or in Anchor Place, the open-air parking lot in the side street that runs opposite Centre of You.

Public transport - train: Both Prahran & Windsor stations along the Sandringham Line will get you walking distance to Centre of You.

Unfortunately, this current version of Centre of You does not have a wheelchair-accessible lift. If you could use support in getting up the stairs or would like to discuss ways to make your experience at Centre of You more comfortable, please reach out via [email protected] or via DM over on Centre of You Instagram.
