About this Event

Join the Summer Reading Challenge with Kenton Library (or your local branch elsewhere in Harrow). Become a Wild World Hero by reading six books through the summer holidays and receive a special certificate and medal. Find out more here:

Kenton Library invites you to join them for their Summer Reading Challenge Nature Adventure with Harrow Nature Heroes. One of six nature events over the summer. Designed for nature lovers aged 4 to 8 years with their accompanying adult.

Bug Hunt: Capture your child's fascination and learn amazing facts with Simon Braidman, our local expert. This fun event is designed to give children an insight into the world of insects. There will be a story, craft and insect hunt. You will also receive a list of suitable related books.

Following Local Government regulations, we are allowed a maximum of 15 people at a session, so book your place fast to avoid disappointment. Please book a place for yourself as well as your child.

Parking is limited but can be found on Carlton Road or local streets. The car park at the end of Carlton Road is closed as it is being used as a test centre. There is a small car park at the end of Alicia Avenue.

We are Covid aware and will be taking precautions to minimise any risk. We ask you to bring a rug or mat to sit on. Even though restrictions have been lifted, please look after yourselves and, where possible, stay 2m apart and remain sensitive to the needs of others who may be more vulnerable. As we are outdoors we do not need to wear a mask but feel free to wear one if this will make you feel safe.

Please bring:

  • A rug or mat to sit on.
  • Warm and waterproof clothes, we will be outdoors for the whole session
  • Wellingtons or sturdy shoes as the ground can get muddy and be uneven
  • Your Harrow Nature Heroes logbook (if you have one)
  • please wear long sleeves and trousers.

Please be aware that there are no toilets in the park.

Terms and Conditions

  • By attending this session you agree that if you or anyone in the home has been told to self-isolate or are showing symptoms of Coronavirus, they will not attend and will let us know the day before.
  • If symptoms occur shortly after the session they will report this to us.
  • In the event of extreme weather conditions, we may have to cancel. In this event, we will give a full refund minus the Eventbrite charges. You will be notified by email on the morning of the event if this is necessary.
  • Harrow Nature Heroes reserves the right to cancel the event if there are fewer than 4 participants. You will be notified the evening before if this is necessary, and be given a full refund, minus the Eventbrite charges.
