Work with clay in the Art Studio at Illinois Valley Community College, Oglesby. In this 4-day workshop, participants will learn how to hand-build a strawberry/succulent pot using the coil method. The basics for preparing and finishing clay such as wedging, glazing, and firing techniques will also be discussed and demonstrated. IVCC instructor and local artist, Julie Jenkins will take you step by step through this project. Students will glaze their projects prior to final firing.

Monday, June 17: 8:30 AM-11:30 AM - clay work
Tuesday, June 18: 8:30 AM-11:30 AM - clay work
Thursday, June 20: 8:30 AM-11:30 AM - clay work
Wednesday, July 10: 9 AM-11 AM - glazing
Please note: This is a hand-sculpting class. We will not use the pottery wheel during this class.
Tuition fee is $229 and includes materials and supplies used during class.
