Join us for our annual end of the summer pool party ... this year at a new location!We're heading to Rinconada Pool in Palo Alto for an afternoon of fun in their large, heated, zero-entry play pool. Go down the frog slide, hang out under the mushroom fountain, relax in the shade of the redwoods, and mingle with other SMPC families over lunch!
There is a separate pool for lap swimming with diving boards and a deeper recreational swim area for adults and older children.
We will also be doing a diaper drive for Samaritan House at this event. Bring a pack of unopened diapers, or contribute $5 when you purchase your tickets.
Where: Rinconada Pool (777 Embarcadero Rd, Palo Alto, CA 94303)
When: Aug. 24, 11 a.m - 2 p.m.
How much: $8 for SMPC adults, $5 for kids 2 and older, and $3 for kids under 2. Tickets cover cost of admission to the pool, lunch, drinks and snacks. Adults who are not members of San Mateo Parents Club (for example, grandparents) can come for $15 per person.
What to bring: Aside from the basics (swimsuit, towel, sunscreen) ...
- A picnic blanket, extra towel or chair for sitting on the pool deck.
- Space in the shade is limited so you may wish to bring a shade tent if you have one.
- The pool also recommends swim-shoes, as the floor of the pool can be rough on bare feet.

Why are you at a different venue this year?
The baby pool at Highlands Pool is currently closed, so we sought out a pool that would be more welcoming to younger children.
What are the facilities like at Rinconada Pool?
They have restrooms and changing rooms.
