In this day long workshop, you will learn all the essentials of painting outside in the landscape. You will be guided through composing your view, preparing your board, drawing out and measuring. Sarah will provide a demo and go through basic colour mixing, and blocking in, before helping you to create your own oil painting. Sarah is a local artist who specializes in painting Cambridge scenes in oils. She has won several prizes for outdoor painting and has exhibited at Cambridge Open Studios and with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters in London.
Some experience with drawing and painting, particularly in oils would be beneficial for this course, however the class will take you through the basics. Most of the workshop will be taught outside, unless extremely inclement weather prevents this. All materials will be provided.
