Cali Rose and The CC Strummers perform an eclectic mix of popular songs, then invite the audience to grab a ukulele for a “kanikapila” as we make music together, strumming and singing tunes that are easy-peasy and fun! Bring your own instrument, borrow one of ours (supplies are limited), or check out an Ukulele RED Kit from the Library. For uke players of all levels, singers, and music lovers. This event is one of the four-part Summer of Strum! series at Santa Monica Public Library. Learn to play the “happiest instrument in the world” and experience the joy of making music with others. Learn ukulele basics in June, join a strum-along in July, take a songwriting workshop in August, then level up your playing in September. Library events are free and open to the public; space is limited and available on a first-arrival basis.
Saturday, July 20 / 2 to 3:15 p.m. / Main Library, MLK Jr. Auditorium
