Summer IntensivesLevel 5

This session is open to dancers ages 11 – 13 with a minimum of four years of training. Experience in pointe is not required.
The intensive fee is included in the annual tuition for New Ballet students. Scholarships apply.
For this two-week intensive, participants can expect to make considerable progress by participating in rigorous classes in ballet, jumping, turning, and pointe work or jumps for the first part of the day.
In the afternoons, this group will combine with CityDance participants and together they will shift to bridge building activities along with challenging classes in West African, Hip-hop, and improvisation genres. Both groups will collaborate to create a new work that will be presented at the Summerdance performance. All students will offer creative input into the final product.
Audition opportunities are open to all student dancers in the Mid-South and are scheduled by appointment only. Students applying from outside of New Ballet must audition. Video auditions are accepted. The $25 audition fee will be waived if qualifying for need-based scholarship (on a per case basis).
