Summer Fun in the Park is a FREE family-friendly event series presented by the Kiwanis Club of Darboy on behalf of the Village of Harrison and Town of Buchanan. Flight Night is our most popular event and features local hot air balloons and their pilots. Weather permitting, the balloons will be inflated and will launch. The event will include craft stations, bounce houses, popcorn, and a lawn tractor train.
Remember this is a FREE event -there are no tickets. Anyone posting about tickets is a scammer and is here to steal your financial information. Never, ever, ever give our your private financial information on social media.
Here’s some frequently asked questions:
Can I get dinner there? YES! A local youth non-profit will have a brat fry with burgers, brats, hot dogs, and bottled water available for purchase.
Will there be rides in the hot air balloons? No, but feel free to ask the pilots if they offer private flights. Many of our pilots are hobbyists and never, ever take passengers. Please be respectful of their decisions.
Do the balloons always launch? No. Safety is of the utmost importance for any flight. Each pilot makes a decision after carefully considering the weather conditions and sometimes it’s just not safe to take off. But trust us, seeing the balloons inflated at the park is still quite the sight and worth checking out.
Where should I park? There is parking available on the streets surround the park and at Sunrise Elementary School. The lot directly off Noe Road is reserved for those with handicap stickers during this event.
What balloons are attending? A list will be added to this page as we get closer to the event.
