Folk meets Americana as we present our first Turn It Up local associate, Pegasuses. The Indie-Folk duo is a regular act on the Southampton music circuit. At its core are two voices, Laura and Dave. Their bitter and sweet blend of close vocal harmonies andsome darkly comic lyrics have made them local favourites. They will be joined by a full band including fellow Sotonian Russell Marsden to perform music from their latest release.
Pegasuses have received creative and career support through Turn It Up, a programme run by Turner Sims and SoCo Music Project.
Supporting Pegasuses, folk singer-songwriter Lucy Kitchen has
been compared to Joni Mitchell, Beth Orton and, vocally, to Sandy Denny. Her most recent release, The Stabal Sessions EP, is a tapestry of melancholic melodies, captivating vocals and personal storytelling. The recording marks her first musical project since the loss of her husband to cancer last year, and explores her journey through loss.
