On this night, we are proud to offer a FREE community concert featuring County Durham’s own Bearpark & Esh Colliery Mining Brass Band!Formed in 1950 by eight men who each initially contributed £8 to start an instrument fund, the band are a 2nd Section band based in Esh Winning that feature a full and varied programme that they’ve performed throughout the North East. Winning awards and competitions along the way, the band continues to keep the local mining heritage alive, playing a wide variety of music from a traditional brass band repertoire to rock and pop.
