OVERVIEW
It’s time for everyone’s favorite game from gym class, Dodgeball! If you thought it was fun in grade school, wait until you give it a try as a ‘grown-up.’ And after you’ve dodged, ducked, dipped, dived and….dodged, you can go have a drink with all your new friends at the bar!
ABOUT
- Co-ed
- Rosters up to 10 Players
- 6 players on the court to start each game (2 girls, 4 guys)
- One ref per court
- Matches consist of three games, each 7 minutes or until one team is eliminated
- Coated foam “no sting” Rhino Skin dodgeballs!
RULES
How do I get someone out?
1. Hit them with a ball that isn’t blocked
2. Knock a ball out of their hand
3. Catch their ball before it hits the floor
or another person
Can players return after getting out?
Anytime someone catches a ball from your team a player from your bench can return (remember there is a max of 6 players on the court)
When is a ball ruled dead?
2nd player cannot get hit with the same ball.
If a ball hits the floor it’s dead
If a ball hits the ceiling/wall it’s dead
If a ball is bumped by one player with their ball in hand, it is LIVE and can be caught by another player
Can I intentionally hit someone in the face making them cry?
No headshots, unless player is in the process of ducking to avoid getting hit.
Thrower will NOT be ruled out for headshot
Sportsmanship and honesty
Refs will not be able to see everything so after getting hit, please toss your ball to a teammate, raise your hand, and hustle off
the court.
If an argument ensues, at the discretion of the ref, they are allowed to remove one or both individuals involved.
