The Summer Debating Retreat 2021 (August 6-9) is an international debating seminar organized by students for students. Debating facilitators from Greece, Hungary, Germany, India and Austria will hold workshops on rhetoric, argumentation and communication. The evenings are reserved to enjoy Budapest's nightlife and to seminar parties.
We only have 20 places and they will be available on a first come - first serve basis! The registration closes on July 18. Please be aware that the registration is binding. No prior debating experience is required. The language of instruction will be English and the event is open to students from different universities as well as non-students.
The costs of the Retreat (30€) include housing for 3 nights, drinks and snacks, breakfast, lunch and the workshops. The participation fee without housing is 10€. This seminar is financially supported by a CEU Community Engagement Grant.

Who? Debating Society University of Vienna in collaboration with the Budapest-based ELTE and Corvinus Debating Societies as well as CEU Debate Society

What do you have to organize yourself? Travel to and from Budapest (there will be a recommended departure time from Vienna when most participants from Vienna will travel together by bus), dinners
