🌞 What We’ll Do
We will start by going through some light movement to release tension in the body. This will be a combination of Yoga, Qi Gong or functional mobility movements.
From here we will do some fun connection games to have a laugh, and to connect with others in the community that also want to look after their health and wellbeing.
Then we do some light breathwork to nourish the body. The quality of our breath is the quality of our lives so you will learn some simple ways you can use breathwork in your life and we will practice some of these.
After this there will be an optional swim in the Ocean those who are keen (only if the waves are small ofcourse)
All of these activities combined are a great way to start your Sunday and to set you up for the coming week.
And if you'd love to go deeper, The Sauna Project Te Awanga will also be set up next to use in the park for their regular Sunday sessions, so if you want to sauna you can do this before or after.
💛 Contribution / Koha
These gatherings are offered with an open heart and no financial barrier.
If you feel called, you’re welcome to join completely free.
At the same time, through my experience many people ask how they can support the continuation of these types of events, so there is an koha/donation option available.
You can also just turn up for free if you don't want to register, and or gift a cash koha/donation on the day.
These funds will be used to continue to improve the events and give back more to the community.
🙋♂️ Who’s Running This?
Jonty James & Sarah Beale will be hosting this special community based morning. Meet them below.
Hi i’m Jonty,
I was born in Napier Hospital and grew up in Haumoana and Te Awanga before heading off for university and personal adventures.
I am a qualified Master Personal Trainer, Yoga instructor (800hr Indian Government Certification), Breathwork Facilitator and I trained Qi Gong and Kung Fu in China for 3 months.
I have been practicing these modalities for many years and now teaching these for over 6 years. I co-founded a wellness community on the Gold Coast called I Am Humn where we ran regular community events and hosted groups of up to 250 people through these practices.
I am back for summer in Hawkes Bay and want to give back to the community by sharing what I have learnt and creating meaningful, uplifting wellness events for everyone.
About Sarah Beale:
Sarah is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga teacher, teaching Ashtanga, Yin, Kundalini and Hatha styles of yoga. Her current teaching style is very influenced by Qigong and the felt experience of energy flow.
She also teaches Pregnancy yoga, having trained with Dr Pooja Maddela in Auckland.
Sarah first discovered yoga with the Bikram hot method of yoga when she was 18, starting the practice mainly for the physical benefits it offered, and then along her yoga path she discovered Ashtanga yoga which was just as dynamic but was more of an internally heating practice & moving meditation. She began to fall in love with this yoga for the spiritual journey & its therapeutic benefits. She has practiced Ashtanga for the last 12 years, started teaching in 2014 and trained with Gregor Maehle & Monica Gauci from 8 Limbs Yoga Australia.
Sarah also practices other forms of yoga such as Yin and Kundalini, finding treasures in each method, and intuitively teaches based on the experience she has felt within herself. Sarah is dedicated to self-inquiry and personal/spiritual growth, always learning something new which she loves to share. She teaches with compassion, warmth and humour, adapting each class, no matter what the style, to the students who are present in the room.
Sarah is also a certified Breathwork Facilitator, having trained with SOSHA (School of Spiritual Healing Arts), a Cacao Ceremony facilitator (trained with Seleno Health), a Tibetan Bowl Sound-healer (trained with Chrystal Soundhealing) and an Intuitive Healer & Reiki Practitioner.
Sarah is passionate about Ayurveda, Herbal remedies, Aromatherapy and anything which assists the body to heal itself
Sarah’s son Hernan is her greatest life teacher and is a little mini yogi himself.
She loves pouring her creative energy into, and holding space for the community of Hawkes Bay. Sarah organizes workshops & gatherings, facilitates Day retreats and loves appearing at markets and festivals.
This event will be weather dependant too. If shocking weather, raining and storming we will post phone the event. For the info I will post updates on my Instagram page
