Art Instructor: Laura GreeneScience Instructor: Jennifer Martin
Ages: Rising 1st-2nd Grades
These young campers are in for a treat! Each morning they'll explore a variety of art media with extraordinary art teacher Laura Greene, including printmaking, clay and more. Laura is a local clay artist and regular art teacher at ARTSPACE. After lunch they'll enter the world of science with TX certified teacher, Jennifer Martin. Jennifer teaches kindergarten in AISD and she'll bring her 24 years of experience to ARTSPACE as she curates creative, fun, engaging and hands-on science projects for our young campers. Jennifer has a passion for dance and loves to incorporate dance into her lessons, so our young campers can expect to move their bodies every afternoon. These guys should plan to get messy and have lots of fun every day!
Please bring/wear the following each day:
- a reusable water bottle
- two healthy snacks & a sack lunch (please no candy/sweets)
- wear art-friendly clothes (we also have art t-shirts available)
- wear socks and sneakers that fully cover the feet for walks to the creek
What makes ARTSPACE camps unique? Like all of the classes we offer, we keep the student-teacher ratio super low and this allows us to dive deep into our subjects, to curate a peaceful and enriching learning environment, and to take our knowledge of the subjects we're learning to the next level. We aim to offer the kind of summer camps we wish we could have attended when we were kids, where the experiences and the learning take center stage in a micro class that doesn't feel overwhelming.
