About this Event
The American Buddhist Study Center’s introductory Asian Brush Painting Summer Workshop instructed by Rev. Earl Ikeda was a success last summer and we are excited to bring this series again this summer.
Reverend Earl Ikeda will hold a series of “Summer Breeze” Brush Painting Workshops to share with you the craft of painting with Sumi-e (black ink) and Fude (brush) on four upcoming Saturdays – July 27, August 3, August 10, and August 17.
All four sessions will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the American Buddhist Study Center, 331 Riverside Drive, 3rd Floor, New York City. For a complete creative experience, you are encouraged to attend all four sessions, covering “The Four Gentlemen” (the orchid, the bamboo, the plum blossom, and the chrysanthemum), the basis of Asian brush painting.
Donations are appreciated, and we suggest $20 per session. The brush painting materials will be provided, but you will need to bring a small face towel to wipe off excess water from the brushes and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on!
Hope to see you! Sign up today!
