About this Event
Our Summer Athlete Strength Training sessions aim to equip middle and high school athletes with a foundation of success to improve form and maximize gains in the weight room. Our goals are to teach appropriate lifting and spotting mechanics, teach principles related to max training and training loads, establish baseline reps on each exercise, and reduce injury to prepare athletes for team lifting.
Our program consists of:
- 60-90 minute sessions
- 2x/week for 3 weeks
- Max 15 athletes per session
Lifts to be taught:
- Week 1 - Deadlifts, Romanian Deadlifts (RDLs), Kickstand RDLs
- Week 2 - Back Squat, Front Squat, Goblet Squat
- Week 3 - Bench Press, Push Up, Overhead Press (OHP)
Each session will include warm up, teaching and training of each lift, assessing for mobility deficits and corrective exercise techniques, and testing a 3-5 rep max. Our team of physical therapists include competitive weight lifting athletes and professionals who are skilled at teaching, performing, and maximizing lifts safely.
