About this Event
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore suminagashi, the traditional Japanese art of marbling by gently floating ink on water and capturing the organic patterns created on paper. Then you’ll experiment with orizome, a traditional Japanese papercraft method of folding paper and dyeing - the ink travels along paper creases to create striking patterns.
By the end of the sessions, you will leave with a collection of beautiful unique papers that can be used for cards, book arts, collage etc.
All materials are provided but you may want to bring a plastic bag or wallet to carry your work home.
This session is suitable for beginners and those over the age of 12 when acompanied by an adult.
