About this Event
Suicide remains the leading cause of death for young Australians, and schools are uniquely positioned to identify risk, support students and intervene early.
Please join us for a breakfast event on Tuesday 26 November, to hear about the latest evidence in youth suicide prevention and results from a regional suicide prevention initiative that has been running across north-west Melbourne secondary schools over the last five years – the Multimodal Approach to Preventing Suicide in Schools (MAPSS) Program.
The event will be hosted by Orygen, with the program featuring:
- A presentation of the MAPSS program findings from across the region;
- A discussion about MAPSS from project partners;
- Future directions for youth suicide prevention;
- Time for networking and questions.
This event is open to secondary schools across the north-west Melbourne region and is suitable for school leadership, student wellbeing teams, and senior-level coordinators.
Breakfast, coffee, and tea will be provided.
Places are limited, with each school allocated a maximum of two seats, and a waitlist established once allocation is exhausted.
We look forward to welcoming you to the event!
