A 4-hour walk, visiting the homes of Halifax’s own nest of suffragettes. We end with Emmeline Pankhurst’s fiery speech in 1911, urging women to boycott the census.

Meet Jill Liddington (author, Rebel Girls) and David Glover (President, Halifax Antiquarians) at 11.30 am by The Standard of Freedom, Skircoat Green, HX3 OTE.
Jill Liddington is a feminist historian and author living near Halifax. She is passionate about telling the story of Votes for Women and of the Anne Lister diaries.
David Glover is a well known local historian and walk leader with a wide-ranging knowledge of our local history.
