As the growing season winds down, now is the time to prepare your garden and landscape for winter. In this session, Jacob Kluza, Horticultural Educator with the UW Extension, will cover practical, research-based strategies to help your plants survive the cold months while also reducing your workload in spring. Topics include fall cleanup, mulching, winter protection for perennials and shrubs, and the benefits of cover cropping. Including how to use cover crops to improve soil health. Everyone in attendance will receive a free one-pound bag of cover crop seed, enough to cover 1,000 square feet.Free and open to the public, registration appreciated.
