Will you survive the Sub-Pocalypse!?!?
Sub-only, Round Robin Jiu Jitsu Tournament, with our unique rule set.
About this Event

Back for our 8th Event!!!

All athlete ticket fees will be donated to Down Syndrome UK, a great charity.

Unique Sub-Pocalypse Rule Set:

  • 4 Person Bracket
  • Round Robin
  • Sub-only
  • 5 Minute Rounds
  • Only One Winner - Lowest Time Wins

Push the action, chase the submission and get out of there as quick as you can.

The athlete with the least time on the clock after their 3 bouts is the winner. Your score is your time.

Submit your opponent in 30 seconds, that is your score. If there is a draw (no submission) or loss, your time is 5 minutes.

Upon completion of the bracket the athlete with the lowest cumulative time is the winner.

We always strive to put together a 4 athlete bracket, however this is not always possible.

- 4 athlete bracket you will have 3 fights.

- 3 athlete bracket you will fight each person twice.

- 2 athlete bracket you will have best of 3 fights.

Legal Submissions – For the Gi event we will follow the IBJFF ruleset for legal submissions:

You will weigh in on arrival in any attire.

Bracket Assignment:

Brackets will be assigned based on the closest age and weight; this will enable you to gain more experience by having more bouts.

You will compete against people the same belt.

This must be considered when signing up, do not complain on the day if someone is heavier than you, we will be taking a sensible approach to bracket assignment , if we cannot match you, then you will get a refund in the week leading up to the event.

Attire:

Jiu Jitsu gi which is in a good state of repair, no holes and clean.

Prizes:

First place in each bracket receives a medal. In the case there is no winner, no medal is awarded.

There will be refreshments available for purchase. Tea, coffee, etc.

Refund Policy:

We have a no refunds policy, so please consider this upon purchase.

Of course if we can not match you, we will refund your ticket fee (booking fee's are always non-refundable).

If you arrive on the day and all your opponents do not turn up then you will be refunded (this has never happened).

Special Note:

Please be aware that this is hosted in our BJJ club, this is why we are limiting competitor numbers. The gym will be adapted for the event with spectator areas. Please respect the facility. If you want to compete in a 1000sqm gymnasium with tiered seating, do not enter this event.

There are a large range of No-Gi rule sets, we have chosen IBJJF for the legal submissions as our main aim is to provide a great learning experience whilst encouraging the development of good all round fundamentals for grappling.

If you want another ruleset there are plenty of other tournaments you can enter.

Charity Donation:

A ll athlete ticket revenue will be donated to Down Syndrome UK, this will be £20 per person, spectator fees will also be donated. We normally have some charity t-shirts available also.
