Su-a Lee & Friends Featuring Duncan Chisholm, Donald Shaw & Hamish Napier
Su-a Lee is one of Scotland’s most versatile, adventurous and charismatic cellists. She has worked with rock icons such as Jack Bruce (Cream); jazz musicians including Peter Erskine (Weather Report) and Thomas Strønen; Classical Indian sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Scottish folk-electronica pioneer Martyn Bennett.
In 2023 she released her first ‘solo’ album. But here’s the twist, it wasn’t a solo project at all, as she invited some of her best musical friends to participate in a series of stunning duets, hence the title 'Dialogues'.
For this very special show Su-a will be joined by three of these stellar collaborators: Duncan Chisholm, one of Scotland’s most accomplished fiddle players, celebrated multi-instrumentalist/composer/producer Donald Shaw and Hamish Napier, producer, tunesmith and multi-faceted performer.
Su-a says, “Playing solo is not really my thing. I am energised by working with other people, especially these people.”
Expect an evening of traditional, and not so traditional tunes.
