About this Event
Who you are: Someone who aims to be intentional with their look, clothing shopping,
and/or garment sewing projects. You may be feeling lost in your current look, or wanting
to try a fresh new look. You value sustainability in your quest to feel more aligned with
your own style.
Lab structure: In this Style Lab, we’ll use 10 exercises to help define our personal
style. These questions dig deep, so be prepared to be honest and vulnerable with
yourself! We’ll investigate, examine, and finally define the qualities you should look for
when shopping for or making clothing.
Using 10 exercises and multiple in-depth questions, we’ll dig deep
into understanding our likes and dislikes around clothing and getting dressed, and
discover our ideal wardrobe goals. We’ll ultimately define our individual styles by
identifying 3-5 words that we can use as guidelines while shopping or making our own
clothing, ensuring that we are aligning with our appearance while also consuming and
creating in a sustainable manner. We’ll stop throughout the workshop to discuss our
findings and welcome those who want to share any thoughts that come up from our
exercises.
Outcomes: Participants will leave with a renewed sense of purpose while shopping and
dressing, and feel a stronger connection to their ideal wardrobe. Making secondhand shopping
What you need: Bring yourself! And feel free to bring snacks, too. You will also want to
bring a notebook and pen/pencil, laptop, or phone for taking notes and performing the
exercises during this workshop.
