Join the J. Wayne and Elsie M. Gunn Center for the Study of Science Fiction (CSSF) for our 3rd Annual Sturgeon Symposium! We are delighted that Samuel R. Delany has chosen to join us in person and plans to attend and speak. As an innovative author, Delany has redefined the boundaries of SFF as well as literary criticism through his explorations of language, society, sexuality, and narrative form. This year's symposium acknowledges his lasting impact on science fiction, speculative fiction, and literary criticism.
Thursday morning and early afternoon: online panels
Thursday later afternoon/evening: Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award ceremony, with reading by the best SF short story published in 2023
Friday: in-person panels at the Hall Center for the Humanities, including lunch and reception.
Register to attend! All registrants will receive lunch, a reception, and a locally-designed and printed event t-shirt (please note your adult unisex tshirt size, or let us know if you don't want one).
We hope you'll join us!
Students or those with financial need: please choose the fee waiver ticket option.
