About this Event
The RHA Friends are invited on a tour and studio visit in the Graphic Studio Dublin, to see how original fine-art prints are made, including a demonstration showing copperplate etchings being printed on traditional presses.
Graphic Studio Dublin, established in 1960 and based in a Victorian former brewery on the North Circular Road, is a studio base for 80 printmaker members making work in etching, woodcut, linocut, carborundum, photointaglio, screenprint and mokuhanga.
Work from their Visiting Artist Programme will also be on view, including prints from Tony O'Malley, William Crozier, Cian McLoughlin and Hughie O'Donoghue.
Although we will not be visiting the RHA or Temple Bar as part of this event, this tour is running in conjunction with the Graphic Studio Dublin’s 60th Anniversary exhibition in the Tony Ryan Gallery, RHA Gallery. Graphic Studio Dublin’s Gallery in Temple Bar is also it is well worth a visit as it houses the largest collection of fine-art print in Ireland.
