Join us for a special evening at The Bench Jewelry and Metalsmithing Studio as we welcome two artists for a presentation of their work. This event is part of our ongoing effort to foster connection and creativity within the growing artist community at The Bench.

The featured artists will share their creative journeys, discuss their techniques, and offer insights into their unique approaches to metalsmithing and jewelry design. Whether you're a practicing artist, student, or admirer of handmade craft, this is a wonderful opportunity to engage with fellow creatives and celebrate the artistry that defines our vibrant studio community.

This month we are hosting two jewelry residents from The Bench.

- a local artist who's jewelry is primarily made from metal "trash"—items like bottle caps, nails, spare change, bullet casings—transformed into pieces that are wearable, beautiful, and undeniably badass. By turning discarded, overlooked materials into objects of value and love, their work becomes a powerful symbol of resilience and reclamation. This transformation reflects the lived experiences of many people in their life—metalheads, LGBTQ+ individuals, pagans of various paths, and anyone who struggles to find belonging in today’s world.

- a Providence-based artist who focuses predominantly in Jewelry making. Graduating from RIC with a BFA in Jewelry and Metalwork, RyAn has spent the last decade and more creating works that are inspired by the concepts of impermanence, self-reflection, and intentionality. Whether through his commercial work, art installations, or experiments in other media, he tries to draw attention to these concepts and help people connect with them.
