The Celtic Students’ Society (University of Szczecin) is honoured to invite you to this year’s international young scholars’ conference: Students’ Perspectives on Celtic Studies.The conference will take place on 13-15 of May at the University of Szczecin, Poland.
Celtic languages and cultures have inspired minds of great scholars and artists for many a century and yet they still influence younger generations of students. Celtic Studies are not only unique but also varied and still under-researched. During our conference we attempt not only to promote but primally to discuss contemporary and future perspectives for the young scholars’ research in Celtic Studies. Therefore, if Celtic Studies are either your subject of scholarly interest or a great passion, please join us by submitting your abstract (200-250 words) until 15th of April 2025.
Presentations (in English) should address one of the following subjects:
1. History of Celtic languages: historical linguistics.
2. Modern Celtic languages: their situation, struggles and linguistic descriptions.
3. The history of Celtic cultures: studies on the history of Celtic art and literature.
4. Timelessness of Celtic art: Celtic motives in contemporary painting, literature, music, handicraft and dancing.
5. Perspectives on the history of Celtic countries and nations: ages of freedom, colonialism and diaspora.
6. Contemporary Celtic history: the current situation and perspectives for Celtic and Celtic-based nations and societies.
7. The history and development of sports originating in Celtic cultures.
8. The history of Celtic beliefs
9. Celtic societies through ages: unique legal, economic and social systems of Celtic and Celtic-based nations.
10. Interdisciplinary approaches to Celtic studies.
