About the Workshop:
This course is designed for nursing students to expand their knowledge about providing care to sexual assault patients. Topics covered include:
- Sexual Assault and Trauma Informed Practice
- Psychological Considerations
- Triage, Consent, History, and Interviewing
- Injuries and Documentation
- Exam and Evidence Collection
- Intervention and Discharge Considerations

Workshop created & facilitated by Dr. Cathy Carter-Snell, an expert in Canada on the topic of sexual assault care. Her courses & training are used nationally by health care providers working within emergency departments, the Canadian military, and community social & victim services organizations.
