Join us at Blackhawk Technical College for a day filled with hands-on training and expert guidance. Whether you're a seasoned RiderCoach or a newer coach looking to refresh your knowledge, this event is perfect for you. Don't miss out on this chance to take your riding abilities to the next level!

During this PDW you will become a mock student. RiderCoach Candidates will be facilitating portions of the BRC. Your roll will be to participate as a mock student during the lessons for the day. These could be BRC classroom or range lessons. The theory is to have 12 students at any given time for the RiderCoach Candidates to manage. The lessons covered will vary depending on our current stage in the RCP curriculum, as we progress through it.

You will interact with the class in the mock student roll, be a part of the debriefs, and get your questions answered. There will be a mock student briefing at the beginning of the day to layout the ground rules. We are going to be very careful not to take away any of the learning opportunities from our candidates. They own the facilitation of the course and the debriefs. You are there to round out their experience by giving them a full class to manage.

The size of the PDW (number of seats) will correspond to the number of candidates in RCP and our desire to have 12 mock students. In a full 12 person RCP we will need 2 RCs each day of prep to be mock students. 2 candidates are teaching and the other 10 are mock students. Your PDW participation will give them the other 2. We will open more than two spots if our RCC count goes below 12.

To make this opportunity available to as many RiderCoaches as possible, RCs will only be allowed to register for and attend one (1) day of these PDW opportunities. With the 3 scheduled preps in 2025 we will have a minimum of 30 spots available (2 each day for 5 days of in-person RCP x 3 preps). We are not allowing RCs to attend during student teaching (last weekend (final 2 days) of each prep).
