You're invited to a FREE student-only event at the Chazen Museum of Art celebrating and ! Explore the works on view in both exhibitions and win prizes by taking a journey through the galleries. Hands-on art-making activities in the lobby will offer the chance to build collages with local artist Natalie Ergas and make prints on your own tote bag to take home. Light snacks and drinks provided.
RSVPs are encouraged but not required.
About Natalie Ergas:
Natalie Ergas is a mixed media collage artist who creates layered hand cut collages through her practice- Native Essence Art. Natalie’s identity as a multiracial Latina woman directs the symbolism and inspiration within her work. Her passion lies in capturing an essence, spirit or feeling in her work using research, intuitive practices and symbolism. Social entrepreneurship, social justice and community connection are also important foundations of her practice.
Natalie has over ten years of experience as an artist and educator. She studied art education, and taught art in the public school system for over eight years. She currently works full time in Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Natalie has been recognized in many local publications: creating a cover for the Isthmus newspaper, and multiple features in Madison Magazine. She has shown her work at many local venues throughout her practice: Overture Center, Frank Juarez Gallery, 100 State, Latino Arts, and more. Natalie has also created many custom commissions for clients such as UW Health.
