The District VI Student Music Competition will be held at The Woman’s Club of Raleigh. In the interest of encouraging greater student participation, the Woman’s Club of Raleigh is opening their building for one combined contest for all clubs to enter high school students from their local communities in the competition.
*No entry fees, no auditions, and participants receive written critiques from proficient and talented musicians serving as the judges!*
-Where: The Woman’s Club of Raleigh, 3300 Woman’s Club Drive, Raleigh, 27612. Free parking available.
-When: Saturday, November 16, 2024, starting at 9:00AM.
-Who: High school-aged students enrolled in public, charter, private, and homeschool within District VI (For High school students IN: Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Harnett, Hoke, Lee, Moore, Orange & Wake counties)
-What: Juried contest in the following categories:
• Piano
• Strings
• Other instruments (brass, woodwinds, percussion, etc.)
• Male Vocal
• Female Vocal

Recognition:
*1st place in each category receives a cash award of $75.00.
*2nd place in each category receives a cash award of $50.00.
*3rd place in each category receives a cash award of $35.00.
**All contestants receive a certificate for their participation.
***To complete the contest, all 1st and 2nd place winners will compete for two overall $150 awards on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at The Woman’s Club of Raleigh starting at 10:00 a.m. The awardees will perform at the District VI Arts Festival to be held in Raleigh in February 2025.
