A FREE hybrid event with participants at the Festival but also a large online audience - creating new ways to share experiences in real time.

About this event:
Working collaboratively with The Student Midwife Journal, All4Maternity and The Nursing and Midwifery Council, we are pleased to announce the 1st Student Midwife Experience Festival on Wednesday 10 November in Manchester.
This will be a hybrid event with participants at the Festival but also a large online audience creating new ways for student midwives and midwifery education to network and share experiences in real time.

This exciting new venture will incorporate several strands:
The Student Midwife Experience Festival – covering a range of topics including working through and post-COVID; preparing to be a midwife post qualification; working in a continuity of care model; study and writing skills; sharing your final year project and keeping fit and balancing life as a student. In addition we will have some poll feedback on what student midwives value or want modified on courses to compare with other student surveys.

The Manchester Student Festival will be free to attend for student midwives, online and in person and, in addition to the Festival on 10 November, will offer:
- A focal point for Student Midwifery Societies to exchange ideas
- Student Midwifery Society Awards
- A UK and International online programme connecting Europe, Middle East and Africa with engagement from some overseas universities and midwifery schools
- A development programme for Student Midwifes to demonstrate leadership and innovation
- A parallel Midwifery Education Conference for academic staff
taking place on Wednesday 10 November on curriculum, standards, supervision and development of the student midwife experience
- A week-long virtual online programme of exhibition and podcasts - that student midwives and academics can dip in and out of
There will be a call for papers for both the student midwife festival and the midwifery education programme.

How to participate:
We are keen that student midwives and academics should be able to participate in a range of ways to suit their circumstances.
On site – delegates will be able to watch the speakers and live stream at King’s House Conference Centre in Manchester City Centre, participate in workshops and discussion groups and visit the exhibition
On campus – by getting together as a group in a lecture theatre ( a viewing party) to watch the live stream, submit questions and discuss the content with tutors
Online – from their classroom, desk, sofa
On demand – catch up with all of the presentations via the festival boxset which will be sent to all participants a few days afterwards
