Racists, PAP Youth, Sexual Harassers – these are the people who are supposed to represent us as part of the Student Union. Is it any surprise that none of the everyday concerns of students, from financial aid to better transportation on campus, have ever been addressed by NTUSU, beyond bland platitudes and closed-door discussions between their “leaders” and our school administration?

What would student democracy look like in NTU?

It might look like students…

Having a say in the education we receive
Shaping school policies to suit our needs
Having a say in how NTU chooses to invest its funds
Knowing what our school fees and endowments are spent on
Having true ownership over our university

Teach-in: NANTAH - THE PEOPLES’ UNIVERSITY

Hear from past student activists of the ‘70s and ‘80s about the hidden history of Nanyang University, and learn the secret of why NTU refuses to acknowledge our true past!

Townhall: WHAT DO WE WANT? WHEN DO WE WANT IT?

This open townhall is YOUR opportunity to share your struggles in NTU - ranging from the terrible ICC system, to poor systems handling sexual assault on campus, to censorship in the classroom!

Sharing: BUILDING AND STRUGGLING TOGETHER!

Hear about the tactics, wins and struggles of student-led organisations in their various campaigns towards an NTU that better represents students’ interests. Ranging from:

more comprehensive financial aid (NTU FNAF)
divestment from fossil fuels (NTU Divest)
cutting ties with Israeli-linked institutions (NTU Students for Palestine)
a campus free from sexual violence (What About Me NTU)
a culture of solidarity between students and migrant workers (NTU Students for Migrant Rights)

Minimum entry fee of $2 to cover the costs of the event. $5 ticket gets you a free drink from our student-movement inspired cocktail / mocktail menu! If you feel compelled, donate more than $5 to bring our student movement forward.
