Join us on Tuesday, November 5th, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM for the annual Democracy Day Student Alumni Public Service Mixer!
A collaboration between the Stanford Alumni Association, the Haas Center, CareerEd, and Democracy Day, this event brings together students exploring careers in public service with alumni from diverse fields — including those not traditionally associated with public service — who see their work as meaningfully contributing to the public good.
Students will also get a chance to learn more about funding and fellowship opportunities for public service internships, while expanding their network with seasoned professionals dedicated to public service.
The theme of this year’s Mixer is Democracy and Civic Engagement. Stanford students and alumni are global citizens, yet many feel a disconnect between their professional and civic lives. By coming together to explore the many ways public service can be incorporated into one’s career, this event will foster deeper civic purpose and inspire the next generation of Stanford students to serve the public good in their own unique ways.
For alumni, this event also provides the chance to connect with fellow professionals, exchange ideas, and expand their network — all while making a positive impact the Stanford's civic culture.
We are also excited to have President Jonathan Levin (a fellow alum!) join us at the Mixer to give a brief opening address and speak with students and alum.
