About this Event
General Overview
This competition is designed to allow athletes to go at their own pace and is set up for Newcomer and Novice athletes looking to either have a go or put some numbers on the board
Athletes can choose to participate in all events or do the events they feel comfortable doing. We want this to be a no pressure event!
Log Press - 3 Attempts
The premise here is athlete's can set their Log PB to gauge where they are at or, just have fun
Athletes will be given 3 attempts to lock out their log press
The lifts will roll around from lightest to heavier, and increase in a minimum 2.5kg for women and 5kg for men (powerlifting style)
Athletes must not use their head during the log press, and provide any limitations on ability to lock out prior to lifting.
Do not drop the log from overhead, lower it appropriately
Allowed: wrist wraps, belts, sleeves, chalk, grip shirts
Not Allowed: sticky substances,
Wooden Log Rules: belts must be worn backwards to not scratch the log, no liquid chalk
Deadlift Rising Bar off Car Wheels
This event is designed to test your competition stamina, have a crack at a decent number or.. jump in and have fun
A deadlift will be setup to establish the lift, this will work as a last man standing.
Once an athlete is in they are in, and must attempt every weight as it is presented.
Athletes will be given 60s to complete a successful lift, shins must be covered
Allowed: Figure 6's, knee sleeves, deadlift socks/shoes, hitching
Not Allowed: No shoes, figure 8's, sticky substances
Sled Load and Harness Drag 10 Meters
Want to talk about grit and an event that will set you up for tactical thinking at a comp.. it's this one.
Athletes will be given 60s to carry all their bumpers to the sled, load them on and harness themselves in and drag/move the sled back to the finish line
Athletes must carry all loadable bumpers to the sled (they cannot be rolled) but can be put down along the track if needed.
All implements must be loaded prior to the sled moving off the start line
Allowed: wrist wraps, belts, sleeves, chalk
Not Allowed: sticky substances
Tyre Flip
One of the best events to check your insurance and well look cool getting stuck into a tyre, this event is designed to get the heart pumping.
Athletes will be given 60s to flip the tyre to the finish line
Athletes must control the tyre and if it rolls away retrieve it and continue the event.
Allowed: wrist wraps, belts, sleeves, chalk
Not Allowed: sticky substances
Carry Medley 3 Implements 10 meters
Another event to assist in the game plan of strongman, awkward movements and strategy come into play here to set you up for future comps this year.
Athletes can choose their own adventure and pick up the implement they choose to carry to the finish line
Athletes will be given 60s to accumulate as many points as they can, a time score will be recorded for those athletes who finish all.
The implements have points
Sandbag = 2 Points
Keg = 3 Points
Mystery = 5 points
Remember this will be on grass so athletes are reminded to stay vigilant of the ground conditions
Times will also be counted, if there is a tie on points.
