About this Event
StrongBodies is an evidence-based strength training program designed to help adults build strength, balance, and flexibility to help prevent injuries from falls, slips, strains, and sprains.
This 12 week program includes progressive resistance training, balance training, and flexibility exercises. Classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays from January 7th-March 27th and led by Utah County Extension faculty. The program is free and open to adults aged 18 and older (but is specially designed for those 40 and older).
The program helps participants progress to a level where they are stronger, more flexible, and have better balance so they can do daily activities easily and reduce risk of injuries. This is achieved by increasing resistance (e.g., weight) and decreasing reliance on assistance (e.g., chair) to perform key exercises. All equipment is provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
All abilities are welcome, as this program helps you progress at your pace and activity level (with lots of encouragement, of course!). You will be encouraged to track your progress throughout the program using a provided tracking sheet.
Since this is a fitness program, there are a few requirements before the program begins to ensure safety and readiness. Upon registration, you will receive an email with all important information and documents.
Registration ends at 12am on January 2nd. For questions and more information, please contact Gabi Murza at 385-268-6543 or [email protected]
