About this Event
S.T.R.O.L.L. XII is an annual campus-wide event hosted by the Upsilon Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Over the past 10 years, S.T.R.O.L.L. has grown into one of CNU’s top-tier showcases. S.T.R.O.L.L provides our chapter the opportunity to engage the CNU community in causes we find personally meaningful and historically significant. The event combines our mission of raising voter awareness and engagement with our mission for bringing communities together. This event continues to serve as a high-stakes competition, a March of Dimes fundraising campaign, and a vehicle for one of the fraternity’s four national programs - A Voteless People Is a Hopeless People.
A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People (VPHP) was initiated as a National Program of Alpha during the 1930’s when many African-Americans had the right to vote but were prevented from voting because of poll taxes, threats of reprisal, and lack of education about the voting process. Voter education and registration has remained a dominant focus of this outreach activity for over 65 years. We serve to not only register voters, but motivate those voters during election season!
